Artistic Journey: A Study in Shadows and Form
Drawing has always been a way for me to capture the world as I see it. There’s a certain magic in observing how shadows play on surfaces, how forms emerge in light and darkness. With nothing more than graphite, ink, and acrylic paint, I translate these observations onto paper.
I keep my approach simple, letting the materials speak for themselves. Whether it’s the precision of a pencil stroke or the boldness of an acrylic brush, I strive to faithfully recreate what I see. My pencil or brush moves, leaving behind shadows—each mark carefully placed, each erasure revealing the layers of light and dark that bring my subjects to life.
Realism is at the heart of my work. My dedication to detail stems from a deep appreciation for the subtlety in the world around me. Every piece demands patience and focus, each moment of careful attention building the intricate features that define the subject. It’s a slow process, but one that feels rewarding as the piece gradually takes shape before my eyes, breathing life into a mere idea.

Artistieke reis: een studie in schaduwen en vorm
Tekenen is altijd een manier voor mij geweest om de wereld vast te leggen zoals ik die zie. Er zit een bepaalde magie in het observeren hoe schaduwen op oppervlakken spelen, hoe vormen ontstaan in licht en duisternis. Met niets meer dan grafiet, inkt en acrylverf vertaal ik deze observaties naar papier.
Ik houd mijn aanpak eenvoudig en laat de materialen voor zichzelf spreken. Of het nu gaat om de precisie van een potloodstreep of de stoutmoedigheid van een acrylpenseel, ik streef ernaar om getrouw te herscheppen wat ik zie. Mijn potlood of penseel beweegt en laat schaduwen achter – elk teken zorgvuldig geplaatst, elke uitwissing onthult de lagen van licht en donker die mijn onderwerpen tot leven brengen.
Realisme staat centraal in mijn werk. Mijn toewijding aan details komt voort uit een diepe waardering voor de subtiliteit in de wereld om me heen. Elk stuk vraagt om geduld en focus, elk moment van zorgvuldige aandacht bouwt de ingewikkelde kenmerken op die het onderwerp definiëren. Het is een langzaam proces, maar wel een dat de moeite waard is, omdat het stuk geleidelijk vorm krijgt voor mijn ogen en leven geeft aan een simpel idee.
